Pantone’s Spring Colors, We Vote Dazzling Blue!

Winter is approaching. And with the closing of 2013 hints of fresh spring colors are already beginning to emerge for the new year. That’s right, the Pantone colors for Spring 2014 have been announced.

Next years colors are all about balance and equilibrium, pairing soft pastels with vivid brights. A diverse color palette perfect for juxtaposing that also features bold options that stand strongly on their own.

No where will these colors be more evident than in the Fashions of next year but as most things tend to do in the creative and design industry there is bound to be some crossover & inspiration. We can see designers of all walks implementing these colors in the new year from interior designers to graphic designers and anything in between.

Some of our favorites lie in the more vibrant spectrum with colors like Freesia (Pantone 14-0852), Cayenne (Pantone 18-1651) and of course Dazzling Blue (Pantone 18-3949)!

This color, described as a “peppy shade of cobalt”, has already been featured in 29 shows around the world just in this past year. Most of which have been at New York Fashion Week and integrated into the collections of famous fashion designers as Vivienne Westwood, Donna Karan and Vera Wang.

From a graphic stand point Dazzling blue imbues a certain energy and excitement. It’s a lively color that can pair quite well with more subdued neutrals or provide a scintillating pop next to complimentary colors. It evokes emotions from loyal to royal but is still easy on the eyes. We can see Dazzling Blue making it’s way into weddings this Spring / Summer, and in the branding of forward thinking Tech Businesses and small Boutiques.
