April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

There is nothing more rewarding to do work for an organization with such an important and critical mission!

During the month of April, we were thrilled to see so many local businesses and organizations with pinwheel gardens displayed on their lawns in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month. These bright blue, whimsical pinwheels have been officially been named the symbol for child abuse prevention. We are very proud that one of our clients, Darkness To Light, is on the forefront of this important mission! Did you know that over 400,000 children are sexually abused each year in the US? Frightening stats but each one of us can do our part to make sure crimes against children are not ignored by partnering with organizations like D2L.

In 2000, Darkness to Light was created as a nonprofit with the mission of reducing the incidence of child sexual abuse through public awareness and education. With tremendous community support, over $100,000 was raised and an award-winning media campaign was developed and launched in June of 2001. They’ve come so far since those humble beginnings- D2L now puts on the largest gala in the nation focused on protecting children from sexual abuse and raises $500,000 annually to further those efforts. The Darkness To Light Gala is held in Charleston, SC and is attended by over 450 Charleston-area as well as national business leaders and offers a fabulous dining experience from Charleston’s top 16 chefs!

There is nothing more rewarding to do work for an organization with such an important and critical mission! “Let’s raise the bar on protection standards, and keep our children safe. Share your commitment to protecting children and Join the movement to end child sexual abuse!”
