The end of summer is coming soon and it’s been a blast for Loco! We’ve compiled the things that really caught our attention this summer and want to share it with you!
1. ) Iced White Chocolate Mocha–Starbucks – Might as well start with the item that’s sitting on my desk right this second. I’m severely obsessed with what might be the most fattening drink on the Starbucks menu. This delicious drink breathes life into me every time I’m ready to quit. (I recommend ordering the Venti, with only 3 pumps and no whip.)
2.) Sunbum – It’s been about 98 degrees out all week and the sunshine is poppin’. When it comes to protecting your precious skin, I don’t trust anyone but the ‘Bum. Sunbum caters to those of us that “live in the sun.” They’ve done their research, bottled a stellar product, and what do we love the most…. They back it all up with a beautiful brand presence, great marketing, and some pretty extreme community involvement. Trust the Bum.
3.) Barefoot Wine, Mio & Honeycrisp Apple Wheat Beer – Dranks! It’s summertime, every hard days work deserves a great happy hour. My summer hours of happiness have been as follows: “Sunsets on the dock,” featuring the Barefoot Wine Sauvignon Blanc. Bursting with sweet summer fruit like honeydew, peach, and pear, this one is sure to tickle your pallet. The “beer on the boat” award goes to: Shocktop’s “Honeycrisp Apple Wheat.” If you’re a chic who has long been looking for a beer you’d actually like, this is the one! If it’s time to hit the bar and you’re watching your swimsuit figure, Mio has made it really convenient to flavor up that vodka & soda! Sure, it’s still a tad awkward to pull something out of your purse and squirt it in your drink, but we are making huge headway since the days of crystal light packets. Mio tastes better, it stirs better, and is less likely to explode in your purse.
4.) Pinwheels – Pinwheels began to have my full attention back in April when pinwheel gardens of hundreds of pinwheels were displayed all over town, in honor of child abuse prevention month. There’s no denying my love for anything that is colorful, shiny, and whimsical. The pinwheel has completely replaced the fog horn as my “ultimate party favor.” All of my friends are thrilled about that! (And Yes, you can purchase logoed pinwheels for your next event from us.)
5.) Yum Yum Cupcake Food Truck - I was a quick one for jumping on the food truck movement. Aside from the fact that most of the “eats” are delicious, I just love the story that comes behind the food truck. The young entrepreneur, with dreams of opening a restaurant, with limited resources. The “where there’s a will, there’s a way.” theory, I applaud it, and I sure can relate. The Yum Yum Cupcake truck is most definitely one of the most well known here in Orlando. Their product is phenomenal–a light, fluffy happiness, in your mouth. Their truck stands out in the crowd, it isn’t wrapped in a tacky full color design, instead they “own” the “less is more technique,” with an all aluminum truck and hints of design work here and there. Looks like your picture perfect 50′s dessert diner, on wheels!
6.) Samsung Galaxy Phone – As a lover of all white Apple products and my strong loyalty to the brand it was surprise that I willing to trade in my old Iphone 4 in for brand new Samsung Galaxy 3. Immediately I fell in love with the device, it puts in perspective why there is such a rift between the 2 companies. Samsung really delivers with this awesome phone.
7.) Holy Grail Magna Carter by Jay Z – This gem came as a free download with my new Samsung phone making this album an instant best seller. The tunes on this album are some of my favorite of Jay Z and the collaborations are insane. My favorite is BBC featuring Nas, Beyonce, Pharrell, Timberland and Jay Z. Download it today!
8.) Vine – Twitter’s new 6 second looping video app has been out for several months, but this summer I really took the time to explore the app and boy am I glad I did! Its like Youtube but getting right to the point. Not to mention the posts are hilarious! Some of our favorite “viners” to follow are: Simone Shepherd, Alphacat, Jason Nash, and Jamein Small. Follow them if you are looking for some good laughs.
9.) Mailbox App - When it comes to managing your email, Mailbox is a smart app that lets you stay organized and is all about keeping your inbox at zero. With a few quick swipes hundreds of emails are easily put in their place. And when you’re all done there’s even a little treat for you at the end.
10.) Letterpress -If you don’t know what letterpress is then you’ve missed out on one of the most popular printing techniques the hit the industry in, at least, the past decade (wiki: letterpress). From wedding invitations to corporate business cards, this form of relief printing adds a chiseled look or a simple elegance to to any printed design and will have recipients turning letterpress pieces over in their hands to get a feel for the details.
